Rita Willey, five-time world champion sardine packer, is a strong museum supporter and has appeared personally on its behalf. Rita, whose sardine packing exploits have made her quite famous, has made appearances on the Johnny Carson show, What's My Line, To Tell the Truth, and Real People, and has been featured in Sports Illustrated and Down East magazines as well as several regional publications. In her prime, she could pack more than 400 cans an hour, a speed nobody else has ever approached.
